Why are we in Scotland?

From January to June 2011, we will be living in St. Andrews while David leads a study abroad trip for Colgate University. We have rented a lovely home just outside the city, pictured below:

Emma and John are enrolled at Greyfriars Primary School, where Emma will be in P7 and John will be in P3, or the equivalent of sixth and second grades. David will be teaching at the University of St. Andrews, and I will continue to work for the Upstate Institute at Colgate, from an office at the university and from home. The kids are looking forward to the trip: John plans to play rugby, and Emma might try her hand at the bagpipes!

On the weekends, we plan to do a lot of traveling, once we master driving on the left hand side of the road from the right hand side of the car! We also plan to take an extended trip to England, to take the students to York, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, and London. Once in London, the Colgate students will be off on their own, and we hope to visit some friends and spend some of our own time (and likely quite a bit of money...) in the city.

We will return to Hamilton in mid-June, with lots of great stories and photos, and possibly a bit of a Scottish brogue!
